How it works

Three phases, not one endless count

Most trackers give you a number and leave you to interpret it. IronWill tells you which part of the arc you are standing in — because day 6 and day 66 are different problems, and the advice that helps in one is useless in the other.

DAYS 1–14

Withdrawal

Peak cravings, broken sleep, a short fuse. The app leans hard on the urge toolkit here and asks very little of you — this is the stretch where most attempts die.

DAYS 15–60

Rewiring

The flatline. Cravings thin out but so does motivation, and it feels like nothing is happening. Daily check-ins and the trigger map do the work while it is invisible.

DAYS 61–90

Strengthening

Clarity returns and the streak stops being the point. Insights shift toward the patterns that still catch you out, so the habit survives past the ninety.

What actually gets counted

Not just days. Victories.

A relapse resets a day counter to zero, which is exactly the moment people delete the app. IronWill also counts every urge you rode out — a number that never resets, because you really did win those.

Urges beaten per day. The gap is a relapse — the tally keeps going.

Features

Everything in one app, and no account to make

Website blocker

System-level filtering in every browser — Screen Time on iOS, an accessibility filter on Android. No lists to maintain, and no way to talk yourself past it in ten seconds.

AI recovery coach

Opens in urge mode straight from the home screen and answers immediately, in your language. It knows what phase you are in and what you logged this week.

Emergency mode

A crisis board one tap from anywhere: a 60-second reflection lock, breathing, a mirror, a forty-second game. Ads are structurally blocked from this route.

Check-ins & triggers

Log mood, energy and urge intensity in a few seconds. Sixteen trigger categories turn a vague "it just happens" into a pattern you can actually plan around.

Insights

Thirty-day mood trends, clean-rate analytics, time and money reclaimed, and the hours of the week where you are most exposed.

Ranks & badges

Ten ranks from Day One to Unbreakable, twelve milestone badges, and a share card for the days you want someone else to see it.

The 3 a.m. problem

Ten techniques, none of which need willpower

Willpower is the thing you have least of at the moment you need it most. These work on the body instead — each one is in the app, timed, with a script.

Cold water splash 30s 4-7-8 breathing 2m 20 push-ups 60s 5-4-3-2-1 grounding 3m Box breathing 4m Urge surfing 10m Call someone Leave the room

Privacy

The most sensitive data you will ever log

This app knows things about you that nothing else on your phone does. It is built so that stays true.

No account, no sign-up

Install it and start. There is no email to give and no profile to be breached.

Filtering happens on-device

The blocker never sends your browsing anywhere. Your history does not leave the phone.

Your streak is yours

Check-ins, journal entries and trigger logs are stored locally. Nothing is sold, ever.

What does leave the phone: anonymous usage and crash reports, ad requests while you are on the free tier, and — only when you message the AI coach — that conversation, which goes to Google to generate the reply. None of it is tied to an account, because there isn't one. The full list is in the privacy policy, written to be read rather than to survive a lawsuit.

FAQ

Before you download

What is IronWill?

IronWill is a free app for quitting porn, available on iPhone and Android. It combines four things: a streak tracker built around a 90-day recovery arc, a system-level website blocker, an AI recovery coach you can message the moment a craving hits, and an emergency mode with breathing, grounding and distraction tools. It needs no account, and your streaks, check-ins and journal entries are stored on your own device. It is made by CoolCool Studio.

Is IronWill free?

The tracker, check-ins, streak calendar, emergency mode and the coping techniques are free. Pro unlocks the website blocker, the home-screen widget and wallpapers. The AI coach gives everyone three messages a day.

What happens when I relapse?

You log it, you say what triggered it, and the app keeps your longest streak and your total urges beaten. Nothing is deleted and nothing lectures you. The point is the next day, not the reset.

Can the blocker be switched off in a weak moment?

Not in ten seconds. On iOS it runs through Apple’s Screen Time content filter; on Android it uses an accessibility-based filter. Turning it off is deliberately more work than riding the urge out.

Does anyone see my data?

Your streaks, check-ins, journal entries and trigger logs never leave your device, and the website filter decides what to block locally, so your browsing is never uploaded. There is no account to attach any of it to. What does go out is ordinary app plumbing: anonymous usage and crash reporting, ad requests on the free tier, and the text of an AI coach conversation — which has to reach Google to produce a reply. Nothing is ever sold.

Does IronWill work offline?

Everything except the AI coach does. The tracker, check-ins, streak calendar, emergency mode, breathing exercises and coping techniques all run with no connection at all. The website blocker also keeps filtering offline, because the decision is made on the device.

Why 90 days?

It is the figure the recovery community converged on and roughly what dopamine-sensitivity research suggests for meaningful change. It is an arc to orient by, not a medical guarantee — and IronWill keeps counting well past it.

Is this therapy?

No. It is a tracker and a set of tools. If porn use is wrecking your relationships, work or mental health, talk to a professional — the app will still be here counting.
